There are many video editing softeare that can help you, just need to pay attention to the output format.
YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats such as WMV AVI MOV and MPG with mp3 music.
You can use software like MS movie maker,it's free but too limited.
I used to use Adobe After Effects and DVD slideshow builder,Adobe is kinda complicated and DVD slideshow builder is better for amateur both of them are nice and contains kinds of text effects.
