best laptop to buy for video editing image

I have around 700 USD to buy a new laptop (can't save up more, cuz i need it now). It'd use it for mainly video and sound editing, and some gameing occasionally. I know its not much money for these things, but what would be the best? Some tips what cpu/gpu combination to look for?

Look for an Intel laptop, ideally a 4th generation processor 4xxx. The built-in Intel video has serious hardware acceleration for video, better than most dedicated cards. Plus the battery life will be far better.

I was considering either an inspiron e1705 or a 1505, the differences being that the e1705 has a 17 in screen, the 1505 has 15, and the e1705 has a 256 nvidea 7900gs graphic card.
I have a $500 coupon for both, but i can't seem to keep the price low enough on the e1705 and still have enough for at least a 2ghz processor and 2gb or ram.
Is the video card on the e1505 good enough?

Newer CPUs is fast enough that it's not a really important consideration anymore. In your case i would go with the e1705 simply because it has a dedicated graphic card instead of the integrated built-in that the e1505 has. Since graphic is the bottle neck in today PC you want to get the better video card of the 2 and simply put the integrated video card can't match the performance of a dedicated card. There's also the fact that while dedicated graphic card has their own RAM, integrated card shared the RAM with the system, therefore it will slow it down even more. Go for the e1705 with 1 or 2 GB RAM and a slower CPU ( 1.6 - 1.8 GHz is plenty fast for your budget).
