Free Video editing program?

Vagineer

What's a good, free video editing program?

Answer
Stupeflix is a great web based service for creating and uploading videos. Photobucket is a great web based and FREE editing tools. The software behind it comes from Adobe who make some of the best commercial ($$$) photo and video editors. Also check out Jaycut which allows you to export and save your videos! If you need/want more features downloading VideoSpin, VideoPad or VideoThang are great options. Still free, but you have to download the software.

For under $100 you can buy Adobe Premiere Elements.

Pixorial is a great tool for many media - free, with full features, for up to 10gb of video.

There is also new freeware version of Windows Movie Maker that works on Windows Vista, XP and even Windows 7. Microsoft has added and deleted features from each version and this version has all the features from each version plus some extras.

Free video editing software?

Bob

I have a PC and, I love iMovie on mac, but i just want a 100% free movie editor. I found some good software like Avid and AVS but they both weren't 100% free and put a water mark on the finished video. Help please

Answer
If you have a PC, you should also have Windows Movie Maker already installed (look in the programs).

But if that doesn't wow you, how about three very good freeware video editor programs, Freemake, FileLab, or VSDC? Each is safe, fully functioning, no watermarks, will not ask for money, and are recent releases that are HD capable.

They are listed in order of increasing capabilities. Freemake provides merging of video clips, and simple editing such as cutting and splicing. It will also automatically upload your video to YouTube if desired. It is also capable of converting your video to just about any video format in existence. FileLab has much more features, such as color correction, title editor, and special effects. FileLab also runs on both PC's and Macs (no-kidding)! VSDC is an advanced editor, capable of effects such as green screen editing. The following link has more info, but make sure to also view other articles on this site, as they outline other capabilities of these three programs.:

Ok well I already have Windows Movie Maker but it's not as complex as i want it to be. Anything free will do, as long as it's good. I dont mind downloading or just using something online... doesnt really matter :). If its hard to use please list a couple instructions! Thaaaaannnnxxxx!!!

Overall, I like DVD slideshow builder and will keep it as an alternative to use along with MS Photo Story 3 and MS Movie Maker. The MS duo has much better graphics, filters, etc and is more consistent in performance but the output options and more than 100 templates and built-in burning software that Wondershare offers makes it a worthy tool,i like burn the photos to dvd slideshow and display on TV not just share online.
Find more information on its official website:

A good video editing software for free?

Epic

Hello everyone, so im in search for a good video editing software that is 100% safe & free. I am a noob when it comes to editing and i have been using windows movie maker D: but i noticed it drops the quality of the videos... That really sucks, but i would also like to have more options when it comes to features you can add. So is there any good free video editing software that is fairly easy to use and keeps the quality the same?

Answer
Most professional film editors use:

Avid Media Composer
http://avid.com/US/products/media-composer

Final Cut Pro
http://apple.com/finalcutpro

and

Lightworks; semi-free alternative to Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro.
http://lwks.com

Lightworks has been used in the movie industry for more than 20 years. Lightworks also has the fastest workflow in the industry.

Lightworks Pro costs $60/year but you can download a "free" Lite version from their website - http://lwks.com

I am looking for a good piece of video editing software, less than $100. I currently have Pinnacle 10... it sucks and I have been reading all of the negative reviews about their newest version. Need to get something ore stable and dependable.

Answer
Fast Video Converter Pro Normally $24.95, this handy utility is available free, no strings attached, as part of a Thanksgiving promotion. FVC Pro supports just about every video format on the planet, from 3GP to Divx to WMV. It's perfect for converting videos to play on, say, your iPhone or Zune. Don't wanna wait until Turkey Day? You can actually grab this freebie right now, and up until Nov. 30.
