Video editing software?

Where can i find a free video editing software online where you can do cool video effects and change your voice and crap?

Answer
I think movie maker is the most well known free software for making a slideshow.
It usually locates under C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\moviemk.exe
But the effects WMM provides is too simple.
I like DVD slideshow builder and will keep it as an alternative to use along with MS Movie Maker.
More than 100 templates and transitions effects it offers makes DVD slideshow builder a worthy tool.
Check the demos it created:

I need a Good Video Editing Software!!!?

Q. I am 13 and my sister and brother and I want to start making a webshow on youtube. I am the one in charge of editing the video, and I need a good (and easy to use) video editing software, and possibly a walkthrough video on how to use it. Please, It has to be ABSOLUTLEY free.

Answer
Lives is pretty good. It's a few steps up from the usual free editor with multiple tracks and a couple other features not found in most free editors.

The best (and most complicated) free editor is Zwei Stein 4.

If you're a beginner, start with Windows Movie Maker. Spinnacle's Video Spin is also very easy to use.

Does anybody know a good free video editing software?

Answer
Video Editing:

Lightworks; semi-free alternative to Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas.
http://lwks.com

Lightworks has been used in the movie industry for more than 20 years. Lightworks also has the fastest workflow in the industry.

Lightworks used to cost more than $1,000, but now Lightworks Pro costs $60/year and you can download a free version from their website.

Sony Vegas costs $600 and that's the same price as using Lightworks Pro for 10 years.

Editors using Lightworks have produced numerous internationally renowned and Oscar and Emmy award-winning feature films and television programs, including The King's Speech, The Departed, Mission Impossible, Braveheart, and Pulp Fiction.

And yes! Lightworks is FREE if you don't need pro video codecs and you can use the free version as long as you want.

Color Grading:

Use color grading to make the video "pop to life", to change the mood, or to make it look more like a movie or TV show.

DaVinci Resolve is the industry standard for color grading.

You can download a FREE version of DaVinci Resolve from their website.

I'm in year 11 and i have to make a video for a few minutes promoting my school....what's a good program i can get for free to do my editing etc...also i will be recording using my video camera should i use dvd-r disks or a dvd-rw disk what would u recommend? and how will i get the video onto my computer do i just put the disk in my computer? before i format it?
please help I've never done this sort of thing before
thanks alot!!

Answer
A demo version of Ulead MediaStudio Pro (www.ulead.com) is free for 30 days and will let you do just about anything you could want with a video. It just might be a little difficult to learn for someone who hasn't edited before. I know for a fact that it has a DVD import plug-in that you can use to capture footage from a DVD. Just put the disc in, follow the instruction manual about how to use the DVD import plug-in, and pick the parts you want to import.

Ulead VideoStudio is easier to learn, though it has fewer features than MediaStudio Pro. It MIGHT have DVD import, I'm not sure. I haven't used the most recent version.

In addition, check to see if your video camera came with any sort of video import/converting software. You might be able to hook your camera up, via USB or "FireWire" (aka iLink or IEEE 1394), and get the video into the computer through that.

I can't comment much more specifically without knowing exactly what kind of camera you have.

Does anyone know good video editing software for MAC thats free ? I want to make a video for YouTube but i dont know what are good ones, please help ASAP :)

Answer
You Mac should have come with iMovie. The full version (not demo) is included for free as part of the operating system. Look for it in the Applications folder or on the dock at the bottom of the screen -- it's the icon that looks like a black and gold star with a circle in the middle.

It's a good video editing program with an option to share your finished movie directly to YouTube.

Hope that helps!

What's a good video editing software for gaming videos?

Zach Newy

On Youtube, with a group of friends, I make gaming videos. What is the best video editing software in ease to use, render time, etc.

Right now, I use a mix between Camtasia Studio (for simple editing) and Sony Vegas Pro 10 (for more complex things). What is the best to use for gaming?

Answer
I use Movie Edit Pro http://www.magix.com/gb/movie-edit-pro/. I don't do games but have come across on Youtube gamers who use. I find it powerful and fast and very easy to use. I think there is a demo available so you can try it out. Oh yeah, it also does 3D.

okay so i need a video editing software that's free it doesn't matter if it's a trial, demo or full version. because i noticed that all the pretty good or okay video editors are mostly for mac computers but i have a windows 7. a video editor like this is awesome but it doesnt need to be identical but something kind of close http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvrAfL6HxI0&feature=g-user-u&context=G2c5f380UCGXQYbcTJ33aqqKx61nkDfCiIp6oJgiGOhNFcX4CqOEE thanks! :D

Answer
Hi,
You can use Windows Movie Maker (it's free), but keep in mind that all free video editors have many limitations.
I highly recommend these video suites - inexpensive, powerful and easy to use:

Audio Video Suite: http://avs-video-suite.org (includes Video/Audio/Photo editors, converters and much more, 18 tools suite)

Movavi Video Suite: http://movavi.org (my choice :) Video Converter, Video Editor, Slideshow Creator, Screen Capture and more. You can purchase each program separately, at a lower price)

Support for all major video formats, many filters, transitions and special effects
You can try them for free and choose the best for you.

Best of luck!

How to add a voice over to a video in Ubuntu 9.04?

bgrohe

I am trying to make a screen cast but the screen recorder doesn't record the mic. Is there and free video editing software that works in ubuntu 9.04 that you can add a voice over?

Answer
I' sorry that I still cannot find the related software used in Ubuntu9.04.

I just know how to deal with it in Windows and Mac.

Because of my job I used several screen recording soft wares. I have to say , free versions always have the water marks.
For Windows, I strongly recommend Democreator! easy to use and give you a good quality recording. When recording the computer screen, they can add music, narration, annotations, images, inter-activities and even animations to enhance, thus making the software demo more animated and interactive.
here is the website http://www.sameshow.com/demo-creator.html#10072

For Mac, actually I cannot find a good one. Sorry.
The most popular is iShowU but it costs some money.
Maybe you can go here:http://www.pure-mac.com/screen.html.
hope it helpful.
