Miscellane

I want a PC so i can do stuff like run emulators and use music and video editing software. I like having a tablet, but I don't wanna buy two different things. I was wondering if it was possible to use a tablet as the PC screen, so at home i can do heavy desktop tasks on it and use discs, and then have the ability to take the tablet around the house to watch movies and use the internet. Then i could just buy a tablet and PC, without needing to buy a monitor.

"To use your Android tablet as a secondary PC display, you need a few things aside from the tablet and PC apps. First, you need a compatible tablet running Android 3.01 or newer (or a smartphone running Android 2.2 or newer) and Windows XP (32-bit) or Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit). For demonstration purposes we're using an app that works over a Wi-Fi connection, so the tablet and PC must be connected to the same network and reside on the same subnet.

"While it takes a bit more work than simply connecting a standard display, there's no hacking required to use your tablet as a second monitor. Several iOS and Android apps essentially fool your desktop into thinking that you're connecting another external monitor to the system. Here's a short list of the more popular apps available, which can help you configure your setup within minutes." . . .

I've looked into Chief Architect but unfortunately, it's not supported on iOS. I'm more looking for a free trial or download just to see what works best for me but haven't found much. Any suggestions?

Answer
Blender for 3D animation and VFX; free alternative to 3ds Max and After Effects.

Blender has a complete VFX pipeline in one single software package. Blender has tools for modeling, sculpting, rigging, animation, rotoscoping, chroma keying (green screen), motion tracking, smoke, fire, and fluid simulation, particles, destruction, physics, color grading, node compositing, and video editing.

Blender has the most artist friendly and versatile UI of all 3D software; easy to modify for your specific needs. Blender also has the fastest workflow in the industry.

The easiest and most detailed tutorial on how to use Blender is Neal Hirsig's tutorial at http://gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html

Start with the first four lessons of Neal Hirsig's tutorial.

Lesson 1: http://gryllus.net/Blender/Lessons/Lesson01.html
Lesson 2: http://gryllus.net/Blender/Lessons/Lesson02.html
Lesson 3: http://gryllus.net/Blender/Lessons/Lesson03.html
Lesson 4: http://gryllus.net/Blender/Lessons/Lesson04.html

Blender is 100% free with full functionality, no adware, no spyware, and no viruses, and you're allowed to use Blender in any production without having to pay for anything.

How can i take separate videos that i recorded and put them into one?

Patrick

Me and my friends were recording some stuff we were doing today after school and we have multiple videos i was wondering if their is a way to take all of the clips and make a big video out of it?

Answer
Yes, video editing software would do that.

Macs come with software called iMovie that can do that. You can purchase iMovie for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch) for a small charge.

Perhaps someone else will answer what software Windows users can use. I thought there was a utility called Windows MovieMaker, but I don't know if it's on currently shipping Windows boxes.
