video editing software?

kashish

i am looking for a customize video editing software that full fill my all requirements ..

Answer
What kind of software are you looking for? Advanced or beginner? How much are you willing to spend?
The high end stuff is professional but really expensive. You can download a trial of either Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere from http://www.adobe.com/. You might want to consider the Creative Suite Production Premium. It's expensive, but has loads of great software in it. Have a look at http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/production/.
Another good piece of software is Sony Vegas. There are different versions depending on what you're looking for. Movie Studio is the cheapest at £44.79 but Vegas Pro is professional software. Have a look at http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/compare for a comparison of the different versions.
Here's a link for reviews on professional video editing software http://video-production-software-review.toptenreviews.com/.
If you're looking for a cheaper software for basic editing then have a look at this link http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ for reviews on the top consumer level video editing software.
There's a lot of free software available for video editing, but none of them are amazing and can only do basic editing.
You can use Windows Movie Maker which should be installed on any Windows PC. You can run it from C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\MOVIEMK.exe. Other free software include:
Debugmode Wax - http://www.debugmode.com/wax/
Jahshaka - http://jahshaka.org/
Avidemux - http://www.avidemux.org/
SuperDVD Video Editor - http://www.alldj.com/video_editor/video_editor.htm

video editing software?

Besides microsoft media editor thing what is another good program that is easy to use. (basic editing)

Answer
Hi Danny - It might be worth looking at free tools until you're comfortable with the concept of video editing.

There are numerous free editing tools for video.

If you are on a PC there are the following:

1) Jahshaka
Jahshaka is a free multi-use offline editing tool. Although it is still fairly new on the market.

2) T@B ZS4
T2B ZS4 is a free video editing and compositing tool from Zwei-Stein. Its not for everyone, but it could be for you.

3) Wax
A free tool with powerful editing and compositing abilities.

4) Video Spin
Video Spin is the free video editing tool from Avid.

5) Vivia
Vivia is a basic editing software which is currently being developed and is in Beta testing. If you are using Linux or Windows you might want to check this out

6) Avidemux
One of the more stable and complete free tools available.

7) Blender
Blender is a powerful, multi-use editing/compositing and modeling tool. It's one of the best on the market and it's free.

8 ) Movica
A tool to deal with MPG and flash video. It's simple, it's powerful and it's free!

Generally speaking, unless you are only doing very basic things you may need more than one tool to create your final vision. I would recommend something like Avidemux or even Blender (If your after something very powerful and free)

Other than that you're into the 'big guns' such as Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro

Information about these and more can be found on my web site. Check my profile for that link

Thanks... Freevideoman

free video editing software?

David

im in the process of making a feature length home movie, but i want the editing to be good. in the movie, a person is having a conversation with themselves.

is there any editing softaware where i can fill half the screen with one video clip, and the other side with another?

or better yet, is there software where one clip overlays another, like in the end of Talladega Nights when the flag is waving in the background of Ricky Bobby?

Answer
Yes, there are free video editing applications. One is an Open Source application and is very powerful. It has its own user forums for when you need assistance and/or while learning how to use it. It does have a steep learning curve but once you get going you should be fine. Hold on while I get a link for you:

Jahshaka

http://jahshaka.org/

This is the #1 free Open Source video editing software. Check out the entire website because there is a rich amount of support. This is completely free. Open Source means absolutely no license agreements, and you can reverse engineer, and take it apart to customize to your hearts content.

Here is another, smaller, but still good free video editor, and two other free utilities you may find very useful in your multimedia editing and use.

Don't forget about Windows Movie Maker, it may be a bit limited in some features and functionality, such as the fact you cannot burn your movie to DVD after creating it, but must instead import it into another application for that purpose. But, Windows has the answer to that too with its free DVD maker, which basically just takes the project and burns it after putting credits, titles and controls of your choice. Plus animated menus.

What is a good video editing software to use?

sparky

I have a PC windows XP and really want a good software that i can edit video's in, as my windows movie maker doesn't work and doesn't do half the things i want to do. Also i don't want to pay anything for it. As a lot of them are quite overpriced.

Answer
100% free: Video Spin, Jump Cut, JahShaka, ZS4 Video Editor, Zwei-stein, and WAX.

I can't speak the quality of any of these as I haven't used them. I just know of them and that they are free. I did see Video Spin rated the best free option by PC Mag at one point though.

Affordable: Pinnacle Studio, Sony Vegas Movie Studio, Corel Ulead Video Studio, AVS Video Editor, Adobe Premiere Elements.

All of these are pay applications. All of them have free trial downloads. So you can test out the software first and see if its worth paying for or not.

I think Sony and AVS are likely the easier ones to learn. Though none are that bad frankly. Adobe is likely the most robust feature set of the lot, but it is also the most expensive. Both Sony and Adobe have good online communities (so online support for you).

The other person is wrong though in saying that major players use Sony, that's untrue. The major editing software out there is Avid Media Composer/Film Composer and Final Cut Pro. That's what Hollywood editors use. Adobe Premiere Pro is gaining steam, and is a capable professional tool, but its a bit behind the curve in market penetration.

Sony Vegas Pro is popular in the wedding video/corporate video crowd. But its not used by big time players in Hollywood. Maybe a few indie houses here and there at best.

I was just wondering, what video editing softwares there are out there for Mac. A list of them all would be nice. Even if there mainly used on PC's, but work for Mac (I've heard of something called Sony Vegas, but does that work for Mac?), that would be great too. Thanks in advance! (Links to them would also be appreciated)
