i need a free video editing software that supports mkv and can mirror.?

right now im using windows movie maker and its slow but i only use this because its the only free video editor that can mirror. it doesn't support mkv so i have to convert first and it takes forever.

You might be able to import MKV videos to Windows Movie Maker if you have installed external codecs like the K-Lite codecs pack or some other codecs that are free.

I've just recently bought a Panasonic HDC-TM700 camcorder, and it records awesome HD quality video! However, Windows Movie Maker and Windows Live Movie Maker do not edit .mts video files, and I can'd find a converter software that 1, isn't complete bs and downloads three, four things unto my computer only to tell me its a free trial, or 2, a good HD .mts movie maker software that won't cost me a fortune. Does anybody have any good advice for me? Thank you!!

I have used a few video editing programs and the easiest one has been DVD Slideshow Builder. Very easy to use with professional features and same sort of layout as Movie Maker however a lot more powerful. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction.

Easiest, free, best video editing software?

i have been looking for a free and very easy to use video editor software. i want to be able to use regular videos (avi, rmvb, mpeg, mkv, etc) to edit with the software. i have seen a few video editing software that either require a special extension or it wont work on my computer. i have a windows 7 64-bit OS. please suggest some video editing software. thx!

I'm looking for a good piece of free video editing software, with no crapware and no internet connection required to run it after download and installation. I need to be able add simple cheezy effects and possibly multiple sound layers. Support for .mp4 files would be really nice, but not completely necessary.
