Need a good qualtiy FREE Video-editing software?

I am in desperate search of an editing soft-ware of some kind that is of good quality and of course free! Im not expecting it to be topnotch, but to have what any and most programs have. Also, Id like one preferably that accepts .avi files, cause that is what i tend to use most and not sure on what program to use to convert those, so id just be less of a hassle if the editing program worked with .avi. Thank you!

HD PVR file editing for Xbox 360 gameplay help.?

I have a HD PVR and I am recoding using the Xbox 360 mode (MP4, H.264) and have been converting my files using a freeware program MP4cam2Avi which changes the MP4 file to a AVI, so I can edit with Movie Maker. So far this is the best and fastest converter to avi I have found. All other converters show a significant loss in quality (HD quality needed) and for this larger file I am trying to convert, it gives me a error saying "Moov Atom not Found" also gives another error "Threading Error". Is there any way to fix the Moov error or another freeware program that will give me quality avi conversion.

Free video editing software?

I would like to start creating videos of some of my gameplay on my xbox 360. I have a Sony DV videocamera, but i need to know if there is any FREE video editing software out there? Good software. I am wanting to post these on YouTube.

How do I capture video from an Xbox 360 to a computer and what do I need?

I want to record videos of Gameplay footage from my game to my computer, so I can edit it and such.

Any Ideas how I would go about doing this?

Also, I will need to know exactly what things I need aside from video editing software. I have that.

You would need some form of video capture device (either USB or PCI...USB ones are generaly cheaper but have less features and lower quality recording) and connect the AV out of your TV to the capture device and using the software that comes with it you will be able to save your gameplay as an MPG or AVI file to use in your video editing software

First off dont even waste your time with dazzle, it will just give you an headache and many bad recordings with sound and video out of sync. So save yourself now. Your best bet is a hd pvr.

If you have a standalone tristar mx hd pvr recorder, or a hauppage hd pvr, you can use that.

Plug the PS3 (xbox 360 or ds or wii) into the tristar mx hd pvr INPUT ports, and plug the tristar mx hd pvr OUTPUT ports to your TV. Change the input on the hd pvr so you see your PS3 on the TV (this means the signal from the PS3 is going through your tristar mx hd pvr.) Pop in blank micro sd card, flash drive, thumb drive, or just record to the internal hard drive, start your game and hit record on the tristar mx hd pvr.

When you're done, hit stop on the tristar mx hd pvr.

You can now watch the video you just made from hd pvr player by pressing play or put into your PC's by the USB cable and edit it using Microsoft Movie maker, or whatever other video editing tool you have. Once the tristar mx hd pvr is connected to your computer, you can convert it into whatever format you need based on your ultimate purpose (like posting to youtube.). Keep in mind you can also connect it to your computer by a network cable too. Or just burn micro sd card or flash drives all day. You can even make copies for your friends to show off your work. You can do all the copying directly from the tristar mx hd pvr. So need to really use a computer ;)

Its about to be my birthday and im looking into getting a capture card to record my games on the xbox. What capture card is the best deal? I am looking for something with decent enough quality to where it wont distract from the gameplay, and something that comes with video editing software. I dont need something that is out of control expensive, but im willing to put some money into it if it is worth it. Thanks!

The Roxio Game Cap HD Pro just came out, it has the same quality as the $250 recorders (Happague, Black Magic, Elgato) for just $130. Cheapest one on the market with HD quality. The next step down would be a regular Roxio or Dazzle. Pretty bad quality though as they are both SD, then with the computer rendering and Youtube nerf, the quality would be terrible in final draft. The Roxio Game cap HD comes with pretty good editing software.
