great laptop for video editing image
Josh
I'm looking into getting a new laptop, mainly for video editing. Would a gaming laptop such as a "Battalion 101 W170ER Gaming Laptop" work? Is it good for JUST gaming, or does that mean it just has high graphics? I'm not looking into any gaming, just high-end video editing.
Answer
Gaming computers usually have very high specs, and they should work great for video editing, but they're also very expensive! If you're not going to be gaming with it, it's probably overkill. Look into getting something with a powerful CPU, and at least 4GB of RAM , but without the unnecessary gingerbread and price of a computer built for gaming.
Video cards are for calculating and drawing 3D graphics. You don't need a mega good one for editing and playing videos - that is handled by the CPU.

If you're on a high budget, you should get one of these.

Otherwise, get a laptop from Newegg.com. I recommend a SONY VAIO SVT13114GXS Ultrabook.with a SSD+HDD, 4Gb RAM, Windows 7 Proffesional, and Intel core i-5 processor.
