Well a Macbook Pro is a best laptop for most editors/developers because it's a completely different OS so it's usually always trouble free and runs good without any viruses; which is perfect for people like me who uses laptops for photo/video editing and graphic development.

But Visual Studio 2010 won't be compatible for a Macbook Pro (Bootcamp/VMware Fusion can work but that's your own preference). So a Lenovo/Asus/HP laptop would be good for what you're looking for. Go to their respective sites and do some research, never hurts to look. Good Luck!

what is the difference between windows live movie maker and windows movie maker 2.6?

my girlfriend and i just got a new laptop and it runs windows 7. we wanted to make an amv but the version we have is live movie maker, which we don't like. i tried to get my girlfriend to get version 2.6 of movie maker but i don't really know the difference at first glance . which one is actually better to use ?

I highly recommend that you use the Windows Live Movie Maker, especially after the latest beta version release on AUG 17 2010: http://beta.live.com

Many features were added: Snapshot capturing from videos, Webcam capturing (on Win7), speed up videos, Custom Save Movie settings, HD Edit and Upload to Youtube, Facebook, Flickr.

WLMM is much easier to use than Windows Movie Maker. Believe me, once you get used to it, you will notice how quick it can create a video with animations and effects applied and some music.
