Q. my old dell computer broke after a few years, so now my parents said i might be able to get a laptop. a bunch of my friends have mac laptops, and they look awesome with all the cool new features and programs that they have, and i love photobooth and the camera and ichat with video chat. the only problem is that they are extremely expensive, and the cheapest one is still hundreds of dollars more than the cheapest dell laptop. are macs worth getting? is it worth spending the extra money for a mac, or do you all prefer dells? any ideas or suggestions as to whic mac or dell laptops are good? thanks sooo much to anyone who helps. xoxo

The cheapest mac laptop is going for $1099 in the US, and it comes with loads of software to get you started. So it actually have lots of value for the money you pay. And one model up, one that comes with double the memory, faster processor and DVD writer cost $1299.

A nice mac logo on the lid that lights up when in use, a battery check button at the back lights up a row of LED to show batter indicator, when you close the lid the sleep LED pulse on and off slowly (breathing..) and the power connector lights up to amble when charging and turn to green when charging is completed.

I wouldn't get a mac for video editing at that kind of budget. but i found a laptop that should be good for hd video editing that meets the requirements
