best toshiba laptop for video editing image
Nick
I recently downloaded Bandicam on my Toshiba laptop and I use it to take screen recordings of my Skyrim gameplay. I upload these videos to YouTube and then convert them to my iMac so I can use my iMovie video editing software. But when I do get them on iMovie, they're very poor quality and they don't change once I upload them to YouTube.
I checked the original video on YouTube and it's quality is very poor too. So does anyone have some answers for what's going on? Is it because Bandicam isn't very good? Or perhaps something happens when I upload it to YouTube? Or maybe even the conversion has something to do with it? Thanks in advance for any answers.
Sorry I don't know how to reply. But here's what I mean:
1) I take the video while playing Skyrim using Bandicam
2) I upload that video to YouTube (I make it private so nobody can see it)
3) I use a YouTube to mp4 converter and download it on my iMac
4) I import that video to iMovie and realize the quality is very poor
I can't just edit it on my laptop and then upload it you YouTube because I don't have any video editing software on my laptop and I don't feel like buying one. I'm also very comfortable with iMovie so I'd like to keep using that.

The main phrase in your description that stops me in my tracks is this one....
" upload these videos to YouTube and then convert them to my iMac"
Do you mean you upload your screen recording to Youtube, and then download it again to use in iMovie??????? If so, stop. Edit it before uploading to Youtube.
EDIT:
Nick, Nick, Nick. You are making me work too hard. Apple makes "laptops", so when you say "my laptop", it isn't helping. Instead, say "in Windows 7" or whatever it is. Here is what you need to ask:
"How do I edit a videoname.AVI (or whatever Bandicam likes to give you) in iMovie?"
---> DO NOT SEND ANYTHING TO YOUTUBE UNTIL IT IS DONE. <---
You will convert whatever goofy format Bandicam gives you into a standard video format, such as MPEG-4/H.264 (even Youtube says that is their PREFERRED format). Examples are Prism and "Any Video Converter". Then import the MPEG-4 file into iMovie, edit, upload to Youtube.
BTW, Windows 7 can edit videos in Windows Movie Maker, right? So you don't have to buy anything to edit video in Windows 7. Don't make me lose my mind by saying you use Windows XP. That's celebrating its 12th birthday, ancient.
And people say playing too many video games affects children adversely....
Real question I could ask is why would anyone want to watch a Youtube video of someone else playing a video game? Is that more fun that playing the game yourself? http://www.flickr.com/photos/68686857@N08/7629827986/sizes/c/in/photostream/

What is a good video editing software that will run on a standard Toshiba laptop?

I am an EMB major and want a software on my laptop so I don't always have to rely on the labs on Campus.
