video editing software blog image
Karl L
I want to post videos on a blog im working on but I want my videos to have the clearest crisp looking picture possible and i was wondering how its done
Is it a matter of,,,
The encription type i want to convert to?
The video editing software/clever video editing?
The type of camera your recording with (and its features) such as an HD camcorder which converts to DVD.??
Basically im looking for some hardware and or software that will enable me to make professional looking video clips with HD clarity. I want to avoid that blurry, grainy /blocky pixelated look often seen on youtube.
By the way i am very cheap but im willing to spend more if it comes down to it.
Answer
Probably the best encoder:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/encoder/default.mspx
Best editor... Premiere, for most people.
http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/
Best {affordable} camera... one of the top four {HV20} here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategoryid=173
That should get you incredible quality for a reasonable price. If you want better for more money... check Avid.com or FCP and take a look at pro hd cameras. What's listed above should be your best bet though.

Does any one know of any good video editing software?
Rebekah
I'm looking for the holy grail of video editing software: kid-friendly, mac/pc compatible video editing software that contains chroma key abilities. Most importantly, it has to be free to use. If anyone knows any or is willing to create such a program, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!!
Answer
Wax 2.0 is free non-linear video editor available for download online; it's capable of chroma keying.

You're planning on making some green screen videos? I recently used the technique during a customer testimonial for my work's website. Here's a blog post I wrote about the process, detailing the essential steps: http://www.werdofbert.com/2009/08/how-to-make-green-screen-videos-chroma.html
Any further questions or comments, you can hit me up on my blog or @bertwerd on Twitter and I'll get back to you. Hope this helped!
