i was looking into video editing software for youtube but i don't know what i should use. I'm looking for one that i can use to put clips together and have some green screen effects. Also i was wondering if i need a special camera or if any will work?

For simple use you can use the Windows Movie Maker that is free from microsoft

You can add picture effects and you can also add song in your video

There is Sony Vegas also , but it is trial for 30 days and you can purchase it if you want full version

Adobe After Effects

It is little hard to work with but it is also as trial
It has lots of Effects that you can add you your text or Video

It is part of the Adobe Creative Suite, a suite of graphic design, video editing and web development programs.
Premiere Pro is used by broadcasters such as the BBC
It is used in Films for adding special effects
