most powerful laptop for video editing image
Kevin J
Im going to be buying a mac for highschool but i also need a powerful laptop for games , video editing etc. . so i can get eiher 2.53 ghz processor with 8 GB RAM or i can get a 2.66 ghz processor with 4 GB RAM . Which will end up being more powerful ?
Answer
Get the better processor. 8 GB of RAM is nice, but you will most likely never use that much RAM unless you like to multitask a whole lot. 4 GB of RAM is still plenty and gives you room to do some multitasking.
Get the better processor since it'll make your computer more powerful. Don't get the 8 GB of RAM since most if it will never be used.

Are gaming laptops good for video editing?
Josh
I'm looking into getting a new laptop, mainly for video editing. Would a gaming laptop such as a "Battalion 101 W170ER Gaming Laptop" work? Is it good for JUST gaming, or does that mean it just has high graphics? I'm not looking into any gaming, just high-end video editing.
Answer
Gaming computers usually have very high specs, and they should work great for video editing, but they're also very expensive! If you're not going to be gaming with it, it's probably overkill. Look into getting something with a powerful CPU, and at least 4GB of RAM , but without the unnecessary gingerbread and price of a computer built for gaming.
Video cards are for calculating and drawing 3D graphics. You don't need a mega good one for editing and playing videos - that is handled by the CPU.
