video editing software professional image

I was just watching the hills and i always get the urge to create something professional like that. i've used adobe premire elements before... it's nice but i want something more complex. i like to add my own touch to things and make them super original. any ideas of video editing software?! what do the professionals use for movies and tv shows?
Answer
Well, most professionals use several programs, not just one single program. There are very few 'magic' software programs that will do everything, editing, producing, visual effects and sound editing. What most professionals use are: Sony Vegas Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, and sometimes Adobe Premiere Pro. (Notice how they all have 'Pro' in their names, as if to reassure you!)
It really does differ from corporation to corporation, however the one that I consider the 'most' professional would be Sony Vegas Pro. Just looking at the screenshots gets you dizzy!

I can't afford premiere or final cut but still I need a professional level video editing software.
Answer
The words professional and free rarely are used in the same sentence to be honest!!
If you use Mac (I presume you do with the Final Cut reference) then iMovie isn't so bad.. and free obviously. In fact it's probably the best of the free video editing tools available on the mac.
If you're really tight on budget then there are obviously ways to use pro software like Final Cut for free *cough* but then I'd be violating the terms of use here for explaining how to do that.
Edit: Maybe have a look at this one?

I've never tried it so can't post a comment about it, but it is free, and will work on Mac too.

"Also Final cut is worth its weight in gold so why pirate it"
Agreed, FCpro is an amazing piece of software that is definitely worth the money.
