best laptop for full hd video editing image
Steve
I need a 1080p laptop for full hd video editing. My teacher said I would need 8gb ram for hd video rendering, do I need this or is a 4gb or 6gb fine? What are the ups for getting an 8gb?
Answer
yes, you will need at least 8GB if you want to do uncompressed HD editing without lag. i have 4GB on my MacBook Pro 15" and i can run Final Cut Pro 7 no problems with compressed HD.
4 or 6GB should be fine if its compressed.
im on a Mac though, and this might be different for PC's

can I edit full HD video from my DSLR camera with intel i5 laptop?

I just bought a nikon D7000 but I need a much better computer to edit movies. Is a intel i5 processor on laptops enough to edit full HD videos ?
Answer
Are you assuming that there is only one Intel Core i5 processor? Because there are several.
There are these 13 first generation Core i5 mobile processors

... and there are these 7 more second generation Core i5 mobile processors

So... which processor are you talking about? Because some of those would be better than others. Can you use any of them? Of course... you have already discovered you can edit full HD Video without a Core i5 processor... you have been doing so. So, obviously you can edit video with one as well. But you are referencing whether or not a Core i5 processor will be an improvement over your current computer.
This fails because you have provided no frame of reference. We would need to know your old computer specifications, and we would need a specific Core i5 processor to compare to your old CPU.
Thanks.
