video editing software keeps crashing image
Wraith Que
My WMM keeps crashing and refusing to save my videos, so I really need a new video editing program. Requirements as follows:
- Free
- Ability to split clips and edit them together with music, plus basic fade in/fade out transitions
- Easy to use, or has a decent tutorial
- Doesn't have a lot of bugs
- Can work with all the common types of video files
Any suggestions?
Answer
You may try this Video Editor, it's a nice video editing software that can help you edit, join, split, trim, crop, convert and cut video, my friends recommend it to me, it's easy to use and works pretty well for me, it embeds many special effects. I had made a video with it and the video got award, that's pretty cool. Here is the free download link.

What are some good free video editing software?
Zombie_Tra
I make Youtube videos and I have Windows 7 Movie Maker but it keeps crashing whenever I try to upload a video to edit. If someone has a solution to this then that would be perfect too.
But mainly I'm looking for free software that is easy to use.
Answer
Free (good for basic editing):
Windows Movie Maker (it might already be installed on your computer)
Lightworks http://lightworksbeta.com (very powerful, but rather complicated)
VirtualDub http://virtualdub.org (must have for avi trimming)
Avidemux http://avidemux.sourceforge.net/ (simple cutting, filtering and encoding)
Wax: http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ (effects)
Inexpensive and easy to use (best value for the money, both have free trial period):
AVS: http://avs-video-suite.org (includes Video/Audio/Photo editors, converters and much more, 18 tools suite)
Movavi: http://movavi.org (Video Editor/Converter, Screen Recording, Slideshow Creator and a whole lot more)
Make your choice! and good luck!
