laptop video editing recommendation image
Mikkel
Hey everyone i need to upgrade from my laptop to a desktop with more power ect.
(i want to build it myself)
What i will use it for: is video editing, rendering, gaming ect.
The laptop i have now uses over an hour just to render a video which is only 6-10min long and that is well yeah..
The hardware needed can cost in total between 1400-1700 dollars
if you could give your recommendations on the hardware and ect. that would be awesome
(if you could provide a link to a websites which sells it even better!)
Or
If you have any other recommendations please tell me :)
Thanks a bunch!

Well its really hard to say. I mean you got tons of options.
If i was to build a system right now for those uses heres what i would choose.
Mobo: ASUS Maximus V Formula/ThunderFX Socket 1155 Intel Z77 Chipset
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770K Socket 1155, 3.50Ghz
Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (CMD16GX3M4A1866C9)
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1000W (RSA00-SPM2D3-US)
HD: WD Black (WD2002FAEX) 2TB
Monitor: Samsung S27B350H, 27" Widescreen LED Monitor
Video Card: EVGA (02G-P4-2662-KR) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Superclocked 2GB GDDR5
Chasis you can play around with.
Memory, i beleive it was 32gb but there is a model above this for only roughly $20 more.
Monitor would be you choosing of coarse.
You can play around with the PSU but id choose something around 750w+...800 just to be safe
If you do a lot of editing, id recommend dual screen or maybe tripple depending on what you do.
www.canadacomputers.com in Canada, but i beleive there is another store call CompUSA or some shit but theres also NCIX which i beleive is in both canada and us

I am looking to buy a gaming/business laptop for under $2500. What is the best on the market and why?
Nic
I want to be able to play StarCraft 2 when it comes out, as well as any other new games in the next few years. I also need to do some video editing and work in HD formats.
