VIdeo editing helppppppppppppppppppppppppp?

Love, Soph

Okay, so, I want to upload a video to YouTube. I wat to add, like, special effects, and I need to cut some stuff out and put some stuff in it. Are there any websites wher eyou can edit videos for free without a download??? Thanx!:)

Answer
Complex video editing requires expensive computers and software (Adobe, Avid, Apple, etc). For basic tasks, Windows computers have an application called Windows Movie Maker which allows for some effects, trimming clips, text overlays, and of course binding together clips. Macs have iMovie which is much better than Movie Maker.
As far as online video editing, you could use JayCut (http://jaycut.com/). I don't have any experience with online editing, but I've used Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop nearly every day for around a year... I am kind of picky, which means I only use true applications, but I see the need for a good online editing tool. Good Luck

free video editing software?

David

im in the process of making a feature length home movie, but i want the editing to be good. in the movie, a person is having a conversation with themselves.

is there any editing softaware where i can fill half the screen with one video clip, and the other side with another?

or better yet, is there software where one clip overlays another, like in the end of Talladega Nights when the flag is waving in the background of Ricky Bobby?

Answer
Yes, there are free video editing applications. One is an Open Source application and is very powerful. It has its own user forums for when you need assistance and/or while learning how to use it. It does have a steep learning curve but once you get going you should be fine. Hold on while I get a link for you:

Jahshaka

This is the #1 free Open Source video editing software. Check out the entire website because there is a rich amount of support. This is completely free. Open Source means absolutely no license agreements, and you can reverse engineer, and take it apart to customize to your hearts content.

Here is another, smaller, but still good free video editor, and two other free utilities you may find very useful in your multimedia editing and use.

Don't forget about Windows Movie Maker, it may be a bit limited in some features and functionality, such as the fact you cannot burn your movie to DVD after creating it, but must instead import it into another application for that purpose. But, Windows has the answer to that too with its free DVD maker, which basically just takes the project and burns it after putting credits, titles and controls of your choice. Plus animated menus.
