Can someone suggest me a good video editing program what I can buy in reasonable price?

I am looking for a video editing software. I know this question has so many answers and anyone can hit that on google search bar to get a whole list of software. But actually that doesn't satisfy my criteria.

That's why I really expect the answer from someone who has good experience in video editing field and worked with that practically, because I myself use several free editing tools and none of them can make me happy, specially windows movie maker is too simple and other free tools don't include that much feature. I am tiered on all of them now. I really need a very good tool either free or in reasonable price.
And off course I want a tool with friendly user interface!

How about three very good freeware video editor programs, Freemake, FileLab, or VSDC? Each is safe, fully functioning, no watermarks, will not ask for money, and are recent releases that are HD capable.

They are listed in order of increasing capabilities. Freemake provides merging of video clips, and simple editing such as cutting and splicing. It will also automatically upload your video to YouTube if desired. It is also capable of converting your video to just about any video format in existence. FileLab has much more features, such as color correction, title editor, and special effects. FileLab also runs on both PC's and Macs (no-kidding)! VSDC is an advanced editor, capable of effects such as green screen editing. Any program that will let you do PIP. Picture in a picture, or Keying.
AVID, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, and any of the Sony Vegas line. Even Sony Movie Studio at Office Depotmaxlandia will let you overlay and size a graphic.

Macbook Air (2011) vs Macbook Pro SSD?

Hi. I am in the market for a laptop and want either the Macbook Air 13 inches or Macbook Pro SSD 13 inches . I will be using the laptop for browsing the web, creating documents and streaming music. The Macbook Air has been receiving exceptional reviews and the benchmarks show it outperforming even the 2011 Macbook Pro 13 inch base models. Add that level of performance to a beautiful laptop and I thought I was sold. I tried it in the apple store and the performance blew me away (those ssds are AMAZING) However, I will not be taking the laptop out of the house very often. Although the portability would be great in terms of moving it around my house, I do not feel it is my number one priority. Should I still go for the air? Or should I go for the Pro SSD? I really like the ability to launch apps very quickly so I am sold on SSD, so I will not look at the 13 inch base model at all. However, as portability is not a HUGE factor, will my money be better spent with the Pro SSD? I will not be doing any great photo or video editing, simply documents and internet... and keep in mind it costs an extra $150 to the air. However, as portability is not a number one concern will the pro still do me better in the long run?

ALSO, if neither of the two fit my needs, recommend another laptop, or tell me if I should wait till the new pros!

Take a look at the tutorials for Windows Movie Maker at
http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Tutorials/ - it may be WMM is all you need. It really is foolproof except that it's picky in what file formats it takes and the lack of native support for multiple video and audio tracks are a definite disadvantage (but there are workarounds).

The version 2 series were probably the most versatile, you can find them here - http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/windows-movie-maker.html - but you'll have problems installing the older versions on Windows 7. Windows Live Movie Maker is still good, but not so versatile.

Another is Zwei-Stein. This is a good editor but I found the interface to be absolutely horrible.

VirtualDub, RAD Video tools, AVITricks and Avidemux are also good tools you should look at. Although not full editors like the others they have some useful features.

Lightworks and Wax together are a very good video editing system for free.

You need 4 video tracks and the only free program for PCs I know of with that many is ZS4. It's an old program and reviews say it works on Windows 7. It's also known to be complicated and confusing - especially for those with no experience working with intermediate and advanced editing software.

Why are my videos from my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 not good quality on the computer?

So, I just got the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, and I recorded some clips for making a YouTube video. On the phone, the videos are amazing quality and there's nothing wrong with them at all. I put the videos onto my laptop to edit, and when I watched the videos on my laptop, the quality was rubbish! It was really crackly, and it kept repeating like a second and playing again. I'm not very pleased with this as the quality is usually really good. I really hope there is a way of making the quality the same as it is on the phone, as one of the reasons why I bought this phone was to take videos for vlogs for my YouTube channel. I know I could just buy a camera, but using my phone is way more easier!

when using anything for a camera..... keep these factors in mind.... MP and pixel ratio of device comnpared to pixel ratio of the computer monitor you are using.... if the PC is higher, then the bigger you make the video box on the computer from a deivce recording, the more pixelated it will look (boxy)....... the same happens to pics taken on a phone and people want to blow it up the size of a poster and then they blame Walmart or Walgreens or RiteAid for being stupid.. lmao!

Basically... if you want your music video to look like it does on that tiny phone screen when put on youtube.... get AT LEAST a 8MP+ phone, maybe even a 12-16MP digital camera

I need to buy a new Mac system for video editing with Final Cut Pro. I plan to edit professional-level quality projects on this machine. An iMac is much more cheaper than the Mac Pro but the tradeoff is that you can't expand it or upgrade it's video card. The vid card it comes with is decent but I'm trying to think of the long term. So my question is, how important is a video card to doing video editing and rendering, and probably some graphics work as well. Thank you!

well the latest apple macbooks are very good in their graphics department. i have used a mac pro (early 2010) and my macbook pro (late 2009) stands pretty good against it. video card is important when it comes to rendering the movie and the exporting depending on the size and lenght of the video you are working on. but you could get any of the macbook pros (depending on your likeness of size of the laptop and budget, the bigger they are the more stuff they have) not only because you can take the laptop anywhere but because they are very strong and durable machines. ive had mine and edited movies as long as one hour and i havent had a problem. best of luck with your decision.

Avidemux is free, open source, and extremely powerful video editing software that can handle just about any type of format, size, etc... I've used it for years now to convert videos for use on youtube, converting DVD's for play on my tablet, etc...

Auggie: Don't listen and read garbage that has no grounds. One the article doesn't have any links its just hear say. I can disprove every answer he said. So lets begin.

My Reply. Mac OS X can run both Windows via boot camp or a OS Simulator= VMWare Fusion, Parallels,etc. So you can have the best of both worlds in one unit. Second look at the Media (CNN,FOX,etc even Hollywood) They use Macs because they are great for Multi Media. They were made for Photo and Video Editing. Also Anyone ever hear of iPod and iTunes. Great for Music. Granted if you want a gaming PC a Mac isn't for you. But for everything else its great.

2. "Macs BIOS is confusing, it is not typed correctly and therefor makes the system sluggish in other areas."

My Reply. Macs Start up and Read Hard Drives 10x Faster than a Windows machine. Macs don't have Registry,DLLs, etc. They hardly crash if ever. This guy has no knowledge. He sounds like a fool for even answering a Tech Question.

3. "According to Apples commerial, Macs don't get viruses. Oh really? A test conducted by PC magazine comfirmed that owners of Macs were MORE likely to get viruses than PCs because the people who created viruses for Macs had less targets, so the people with Macs were easy to target. Not to mention since Apple thought that Macs were immune to viruses [big mistake] they never made an option for virus protection like McAfee or Norton to come installed or even BE installed."

My Reply. This is another sad case of ignorance. One every time Apple sees a threat they release a patch. Microsoft has released God knows how many patches just for its Internet Explorer 8. Also Ever hear of the Conflicter worm. Macs do have Security obviously this proves he is a moron saying they never created it. He sounds like a Microsoft Employee trying to tarnish Apple. My Reply. Once again what a fool. Macs use Aluminum Dell Uses Plastic. Last time I checked Aluminum is a solid metal. So how can you compare durability. Also Windows uses a traditional old Trackpad made of 2 buttons and plastic. Macs have Glass Trackpads, Multi-Finger Gestures, Back-lit keyboards, Built-in Webcams,Mic, How can that even match to a cheap plastic windows machine.

Also just to point out how inexperienced he is. He calls a Windows Machine a PC VS. Mac. The only reason they use the term Mac VS. PC is because its better than saying "Hi I'm a Mac and I'm a Window" If you look at the definition of a PC its a Computer which both Macs and Windows are. The Difference in the Name is the OS/Software.

PS: Stop Crying that Macs are Expensive they lowered the price. Look at the website. They have better deals then some other makers like Toshiba, Sony, and Dell. And Those Customer Service Agents Suck. Apple was rated #1.

I Suggest you get him the Base 13" MacBook Pro. Its got better Specs, all good features, and its Brand New its going to last him through College/University so you won't have to worry about it. They are also upgradable. They can have up to 8 GB of Ram and 500 GB Hard Drives. Have 8 Hour battery life which will last him an entire school day on a single charge. 10X More battery life compared to other Makers. By the way I own both Windows and Macs. I use both equally. Sometimes I use a Mac more mainly because of the editing I can do. Also its much more portable to take.

To make better slideshows you you need more advanced and professioanl but still user friendly software.
I have used a few video editing programs and the easiest one has been DVD Slideshow Builder. Very easy to use with professional features and same sort of layout as Movie Maker however a lot more powerful.

what's your computer specifications? maybe you need to upgrade it, say, more memory, better CPU. Or connect pinnacle studio customer service and ask for why. They should help you solve the problem. If all doesn't work. Give up and switch to another video editing software, say Wondershare Movie Story I am using. Good for my slow computer. Good luck

The best indicates expensive and not simple. If you are new to editing (which it sounds like). Do you really want a professional, expensive editing package? If your question is which is a good app to start learning editing, then there are several. It depends on your budget and skills. There are some entry- to mid-level apps like Pinnacle, Sony Vegas, or Premiere Elements that can get you started and they'll run you about $75 - $120. If you really want to start at the top, it'll cost you over $500 and some time to learn the app. That'll require lots of practice, book study, and possibly video tutorials...depends on you. Additionally, the more powerful the app the more system requirements. Video editing takes lots of RAM and a fast processor for rendering. Effects are another issue altogether. Once you get editing principles down, then you can learn to apply effects to your videos.

To answer your question as asked: The best is probably Avid. There are other top ones like Avid Express Pro, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Vegas Pro

I plan on getting a 13 inch Macbook Pro with 2 GB of RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHZ. Now I plan on using iMovie to editing HD video for blogs. Will it be good? Ok, I too was faced with the same dilemma. Before entering college the previous semester I did not know whether to buy an iPad 2 or Macbook Pro 13. I chose to go with the Macbook pro because in college a computer is a necessity. More specifically a laptop is crucial. I was a windows user before buying my mac and I can say that it is a major improvement, but a little overpriced. However, the benefits from the mac far outweigh the negatives. If you plan on buying a macbook, keep in mind that it weighs around 5.5 lbs so factor that in with your textbooks, notebooks, etc. For some this can get a little heavy and strenuous on the back. Recently, I bought a used iPad 1 (craigslist is your friend), and I can say I am enjoying it so far. I chose not to buy the iPad to because it really didn't matter to me that it had cameras and 2 processors as compared to the original iPad's single core processor. My iPad runs smoothly even though it is the older generation. I take my iPad to school when I do not have a writing intensive course that day and bring my macbook on the other days. I would say from my personal experience, to go with the macbook pro first and later on save up for an iPad/iPad 2. Both are smart investments and will last you awhile before you need to upgrade to a newer version.

I have a Sony DCRTRV900 and I used to have a Sony laptop as well with video editing software and Adobe Premier. The computer is old so I need to connect it to a new computer. Is there a firewire to usb cable? And if I use a program like Premier will it control the camera or how do I just import videos and then save or edit? Also, is this camera even worth using anymore? I remember it was about $2800 new, but I'm sure you can buy something new for a lot less.

Your camera is still good quality. Because it uses 3-ccds you get much better quality and colors then you do from most all consumer camcorders. Even a HD camcorder will most likely not reproduce colors as correct. Unless you are willing to spend the money to upgrade to a good HD camcorder (around $2000 for 3-ccd) and a new computer and editing system (required to handle HD footage) I'd stay put. In answer to your question no you cant really use a usb to firewire cable. Although they do exist they are more then just cables but rather converter boxes in a cable and they require usb 2.0 something an older laptop might not have. Plus they are buggy etc.

What you need to do is to purchase a firewire expansion card for your computer. A pcmcia expansion card such as this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6307454&st=firewire+pcmcia&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1074787928197 would work fine. This is a standard card that you can pick up anywhere on the internet, probably for less.

Any video editor or capturing program can control a miniDV camcorder and yes I can personally guarantee that Premier does control a miniDV camcorder through its interface.

I am buying a laptop to do some video editing. I use Adobe After Effects and Sony Vegas Pro at the moment. I was thinking of getting a laptop with 8 gb RAM, core i7 and 500 gb hard drive. For the graphics card, I was thinking Nvidia Geforce 635M or 610M. Can you please give some suggestions for the specs, especially the graphics card. Is this graphics card good enough? Is there a laptop that can play newer games on the highest settings?

I've saved up $2500 and am looking to purchase a laptop that can handle video editing, video processing, and be able to play newer games, such as Skyrim, on high or near the highest settings, and be able to record it to. I don't mind dishing out the money for it, if such a laptop exits, i just don't want to spend to much money on a laptop and then not have it perform. And I would get a desktop, but I live in an apartment with 4 other siblings, so there's no room. Even if it's not absolutely perfect, Is there a laptop out there that can handle newer games on higher settings?

I have an M17x and I absolutely swear by it.
It was made to be a gaming laptop but because of it's great memory capacity and high speed processor it can do just about anything.
If you go to their site you can look at their newer models and customize the laptops appearance yourself.
Last I checked, their newest model costs about $1,200 and it's worth every penny.

My band is getting serious about recording, and instead of going to a studio we'd like to do it ourselves.

My one friend's band.. they do everything from his MacBook and it all sounds like they produce recordings that are studio-quality.

I'm also an extreme gamer.. MMORPG / FPS's.. which is the downfall of me investing in a MacBook.. as City of Heroes/Villians I don't believe is mac-compatible; nor are many other games. :P

So any suggestions on laptop specifications i should look for, for cutting-edge recordings, video editing, and gaming?
