What are some good video editing apps for windows 8?

Blender or Autodesk 3Ds Max ?

I'm confused a little about these 2 3d modelling softwares: Blender and 3Ds Max.
So, I am gonna learn about 3d modelling, animation, render, visual effects, game development, etc. and please suggest which is good.

Hi! I'm looking into starting a career of 3D Modeling, Animation and texture editing with Photoshop. I'm only 15, so I am a minor currently. I signed up for the Auto desk Student for the program 3DS Max. I was reading the terms of use and it said i couldn't use it for making money and i can understand that.
But what about YouTube videos? Can i show the world what i have done? As you guys know, Youtube videos can have AD's on them which intern in making you money. Would this destroy the terms of use on the Auto desk product?

No due to the students T&C you agree too you cannot sell post or advertise you're models because you're not paying for the license once you have that license then you can do what you want too. You don't buy the software that is autodesk product(s) you rent it from them.

Macbook pro vs macbook air 2013?

Q. I was wondering whether the macbook pro 13 inch(non retina) is a good idea or the macbook air 13 inch latest model. I would use it mostly for email, word processing, videos, and mostly just web surfing. THe macbook air seems better, but i like the power and larger hard drive on the pro. Im not sure which to buy?

Which laptop should I get?

For gameing alone I would say the Alienware M17x but for all of them I would say the MSI because the only game the macbook can run is Sims 3. Also the MSI is slim and portable but also has power. With the MSI you should really buy a cooling pad thought. Software to buy would adobe photoshop, adobe after effects or cyberlink powerdirector, microsoft office 2013 student and Microsoft Visual Studio.

Video editing requires a stout CPU, big sticks of RAM and plenty of disk drive space.

Get an Intel Core 2 Duo or a Quad Core
4 GB DDR2 or DDR3
250-320GB internal drive + big external drive
A nice independent GPU video card for video rendering is also a plus.
You are looking at $600-$1000 range (or more)

I will say this. You need a powerful processor (i5 and i7 from Intel, and at least a Quad/Quad-APU from AMD). But what you need more then that is memory; Vegas will EAT RAM for breakfast. Depending on how large your videos are, 8Gb should be the minimum (from my experience; anything less then that caused problems with how much I could render at once).

Can you connect a Kodak ziP hand held camera to Pinnacle Studio 11 editing software?

I bought the ziP so that I can just put the USB drive into the computer and transfer the video into the Pinnacle Studio 11 editing software, but now the software is telling me to format the SD chip. When I format it, it won't work inside the camera. Anyone have any ideas? I have Vista (yeah...dumb move I know.)

kodak zi8 records in mov format,can't be accepted by most editing softwares,try using iorgsoft video converter,it can convert kodak mov videos to avi,mpeg2,mp4 compatible with Pinnacle Studio 11 ,hope it helps!

Here's the list of some well-known formats which YouTube supports:

WebM files (Vp8 video codec and Vorbis Audio codec)
.MPEG4, 3GPP and MOV files - (typically supporting h264 and mpeg4 video codecs and AAC audio codec)
.AVI (Many cameras output this format - typically the video codec is MJPEG and audio is PCM)
.MPEGPS (Typically supporting MPEG2 video codec and MP2 audio)
.WMV
.FLV (Adobe - FLV1 video codec, MP3 audio)

And Kodak zi8 recodes MOV files.

From it, kodak video files is supported by youtube, therefore, just made sure it's less than 10 minutes, smaller than 2GB in size, and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

I tried using Jing- the video lags a lot, plus it won't allow me to edit the video or open it in any program other than Jing.

Jing is a bloody joke. I use Camtasia Studio Pro 8 to record my gaming videos and edit in program for professional quality.

There are a lot of video editing software you can use, Like Camtasia ($99 for Mac or $249 for pc) and learn to edit it out yourself, but there are actually some free methods you can utilize as well. You should download a program called Audacitiy. It's completely free and very powerful for recording and editing your voice. Just record your voice using audacity and output a wav file that is the same length as your video. Then you can download free video editing (if you don't have it on your computer already) software. You can use Camstudio (for Windows) or Jing (for Mac) which are both free software you can download. Finally, import your video into the video editing software and then your new audio track and output your new video! You can learn how to do all of this in like, one day if you work at it, but you can also buy training at Fiverr on how to do this too. Check out my source.

Video editing software.?

So I used to use Windows live movie maker to edit my game recordings as it had the codec required. But now windows live movie maker has changed to a crap movie maker that crashes and freezes. I have sony vegas 10 but it doesn't have the codec AVI to edit my recordings. So now I don't know what to do. Any help would be much appreciated :)
But when i try to import it says it doesn't have the codec AVI it's not the rendering it's the importing that's the problem :)
Anyone know how I could fix this problem with Sony Vegas? It's a good programme. If only I could use it.

Need a good qualtiy FREE Video-editing software?

I am in desperate search of an editing soft-ware of some kind that is of good quality and of course free! Im not expecting it to be topnotch, but to have what any and most programs have. Also, Id like one preferably that accepts .avi files, cause that is what i tend to use most and not sure on what program to use to convert those, so id just be less of a hassle if the editing program worked with .avi. HD PVR file editing for Xbox 360 gameplay help.?

I have a HD PVR and I am recoding using the Xbox 360 mode (MP4, H.264) and have been converting my files using a freeware program MP4cam2Avi which changes the MP4 file to a AVI, so I can edit with Movie Maker. So far this is the best and fastest converter to avi I have found. All other converters show a significant loss in quality (HD quality needed) and for this larger file I am trying to convert, it gives me a error saying "Moov Atom not Found" also gives another error "Threading Error". Is there any way to fix the Moov error or another freeware program that will give me quality avi conversion.
