Any good video editing software besides windows movie maker?

BassSinger

I'm trying to edit several videos however windows movie maker is becoming a pain in the butt for me. Is there a good free video editing software that may be similar to windows movie maker?

Answer
FileLab is a freeware video editing program for just about all platforms (Mac, PC, etc...). I use it a lot to make YouTube videos. It runs in your browser using a simple plug-in download. It has many transition and video effects, very good title editor, and customized color correction to include brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and gamma. This tutorial on FileLab was made with FileLab

VSDC is also freeware, but has much more advanced capabilities than FileLab, such as green screen! It's not as obvious or easy to use as FileLab, but did I already mention it has green screen (chroma key), and it's free? Also, it is capable of editing in most most popular video formats and compression schemes including high definition (HD), AVI, H.264, MP4, MKV, MTS, 3GP, WMV, QT, MP3, MPEG2 FLV, SWF. YouTube. Get it now while it's free because eventually this will go payware.

Good video editing software for Windows 7?

Nuke Storm

I'm not a fan of WLMM, I don't like how they destroyed the greatness of what was the past versions.

So anyway, I downloaded Windows Movie Maker that was for the vista version for my windows 7, but it crashes a lot and removes things that I add in my vids when I don't want it to.

So I want to ask everyone out there, that knows any good video editing software?
Also, I would like something that maybe also has a timeline other than something that takes a long time to get use too.

Answer
How about three very good freeware video editor programs, Freemake, FileLab, or VSDC? Each is safe, fully functioning, no watermarks, will not ask for money, and are recent releases that are HD capable.

They are listed in order of increasing capabilities. Freemake provides merging of video clips, and simple editing such as cutting and splicing. It will also automatically upload your video to YouTube if desired. It is also capable of converting your video to just about any video format in existence. FileLab has much more features, such as color correction, title editor, and special effects. VSDC is an advanced editor, capable of effects such as green screen editing. The following link has more info, but make sure to also view other articles on this site, as they outline other capabilities of these three programs.:
