If you want a "great" video editing laptop, it's going to cost you pretty decent money. You're going to want an i7 processor with at least 8 gb of ram, and a good video card with at least 1gb of dedicated video ram. That's going to cost you at least $1,000 in most cases.

I bought mine about a year ago, and got a student discount, and it still cost me $1200....and it was the bare minimum.

the lower price the better but i think i want to take up just making videos and stuff and i dont care on mac or pc and i dont care if it is a laptop or a desktop just the lower the better
also im pretty good with pcs and can easily add an upgrade or two

Get the cheapest mac-mini ($599) and hook it up to your current keyboard, mouse, and monitor (yes you can do that).

If you're looking to get into video editing, this is the way to go. The mac-mini is a surprisingly powerful machine and in the future you can start using final-cut studio.
