Answer
I recommend Sony Vegas products: http://sonyvegaspro.org
(MoviEZ HD and Vegas Movie Studio for beginners, Vegas Pro for advanced users and professionals)

Another powerful video editor is Magix Movie Edit Pro: http://magix-video.com

Also take a look at these video editors for home users:

Magix Video Easy - http://videoeasy.magix-video.com
Movavi Video Editor - http://videoeditor.movavi.org
AVS Video Editor - http://avs-video-suite.org

free download, support all key video formats, many filters, transitions and special effects, easy to use and inexpensive

What is a good video editing program for Macs (with a free trial/download)?

Elle

I have a Macbook that I purchased in 2007. The default video editing software is iMovie HD. However, I don't really like it. Are there any good editing programs for Macs? And can I get a free trial? I would love to use Sony Vegas or something like that, but those programs just aren't compatible with Macs.

Answer
Adobe premiere is now compatible with Mac, or if you want a genuine Mac program go for Final Cut Studio. I use premiere but I'm a PC user. Some ppl have found Final Cut Studio somewhat difficult to use.
