What is the best video editing software for me?

I'm not professional or anything, but I would like to know what would be the best video editing software for me. I would just use it for school videos and YouTube videos. I have a PC and don't want to spend a ton of money some is ok though. I've been using windows movie maker, but I would more options on editing.
