What is better then Roxio Pro 2012 video editing software?

Videowave constantly crashes on me and i have reinstalled it over and over, updated it etc..
I run win 7 pro 64bit pro and need a program similar or better then roxio's video wave and i want stability!

I just started experimenting with recording game footage, and I'd like to know if there's any good editing software I could use. I'd really like to be able to add a letterbox effect around my video. A free download would be perfect, but anything helps. I'm just not up on what's good now.

Editing Software... i don't know of many "free downloads" however, there are some restively cheep software that would allow you to do what you want, and much much more. Pinnacle Studio would be a great option for you. I own this editing software, and it seems to work well for little projects.

Eventually if you got good at editing and made it into a hobby, there are high end editing software such as Apple Finial Cut Pro, and the Adobe editing suite. I own all three, and if i need to do a quick little project, i actually like the Pinnacle Studio software because of how relatively simple it is.
