is the most suitable and optimized for video editting??

Answer
Mac Book Pro. I'm a PC user, and at work, all video, audio (everything audio is best, too bad for me!), and art production is done on Apple. I've heard that because the Apple name was used for computers, there had to be a rule that it was cutting edge for musical production (since the Beatles' label was Apple). Might be a rumor, but.... Everyone makes fun of me because I still use a PC, and my laptop is a HP. The Mac Book Pro 13 inch screen was voted number 3 best laptop in the Consumer Reports June 2011 issue (the Mac Book Air was number one, the Toshiba Protege was number 2), and performance was outstanding. Granted, the thing that I like about PC is the amount of available software, and the options. Macs give you less options, and a lot less software, but some people like it that way. If you decide to go with PC, there are good programs that can handle video editting, but if you look at most studios, it's done with Macs. Good luck!

I want to know what's the best laptop for my situation.?

I'm going offshore for 2 weeks at a time and need a laptop because that will be my only form of entertainment. I'm looking for a laptop that can edit videos, play games, run movies and other stuff without freezing up and lagging constantly. In the price range of $1000.

A refurbished October 2011 13-inch Macbook Pro. Here's a link: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FD313LL/A

Here are a few reasons why Mac is, in most cases (like yours), a better decision than a PC:

1. Durability - Its unibody enclosure is machined from a solid block of aluminum. The result is a notebook that is thin and light, looks polished and refined, and feels strong and durable. Also, the inside components are all custom designed by Apple to fit together perfectly, extending the life of the computer.
2. Battery life - seven hour battery (and it actually is seven hours, I know from experience). If you're taking notes all day this is crucial.
3. Innovative features - The little things do matter. Apple is a company that takes these details into account. Consider the MagSafe power connector that breaks cleanly away from the notebook if you trip over the power cord. This kinds of features are everywhere throughout the inside and outside of Apple computers.
4. Performance - equipped with blazing-fast Intel processors, high-performance graphics, and high-speed DDR3 memory. And OS X is custom-made to take advantage of every bit of that technology. You get superior performance for just about everything you do: managing your photos, editing video, even playing graphics-intensive 3D games.
5. Environmentally friendly - Apple is one of the most environmentally friendly computer companies out there. They're energy efficient and use fewer toxic substances like arsenic and mercury. Also, they're made of high quality aluminum and glass -- both very recyclable.
6. Comes with great software - You don't need to get very much extra software because it's all built in. If you do need something, it's easy to access with the Mac App Store.
7. The hardware and software are designed to work together. Think about it. If you buy a PC, it will be running Windows no matter what. Windows wasn't designed to work with a particular computer. OS X was.
8. Built in security.
9. Automatic backup with Time Machine -- you don't know how many times I've accidentally deleted a term paper or a set of notes. Time Machine has saved me.
10. GREAT customer support.

If you have any specific games in mind, make sure to Google if they can run on Mac. Some games don't work on Macs, though there are many games that do.

Hope this helps!
