I want to record myself playing several instruments at once on separate screens. What's the easiest video editing software that makes it easy to sync videos/sounds.

Answer
Agreed. There are no free or entry-level apps that have multi-track editing. This effect requires the editing app to allow an unlimited number of video and audio tracks on the timeline. This is very RAM and processor intensive so, in addition to the expensive software, you need a good modern computer with lots of RAM. It can work with a typical computer but the render will take a very long time (if it completes at all). See Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Vegas Pro,

Answer
It's OK, but there are two big issues with it, music and monetization. All of your videos will have THEIR music imprinted on them, there's no way around it. If the video that you're editing already has audio, it will be stripped and replaced with their music. The intent is that after you upload your video to YouTube, it will be automatically monetized with ads because their music is embedded in the video. They will automatically receive ALL and any payments from YouTube ads because of this,. There's no way around it. If you think about it, it's a pretty clever marketing scheme.

There are other freeware alternatives, if you want any YouTube ad money to go to you, or if you want to include or keep your own audio. For screen capturing, I use camstudioportable:

For video editing of my captures, I use any one of three freeware programs, Freemake, FileLab or VSDC, depending on what I want to do. For basic video splitting, cutting, and merging, I'll just use Freemake because it's so easy. If I want titles, or to brighten up a video, I'll use FileLab. If I want special effects, such as green screen explosions, I'll use VSDC:

And if you want to include music on your YouTube videos, yet still get paid for ads, consider this site to download your music. Just make sure to read the licensing for each song (make sure it's free for commercial use) and always give them full credit and include the links to the license and site as shown:
