Would this laptop work for HD video editing?

Batman

I'm an amateur filmmaker. In a few weeks I will be buying a Canon Vixia HF G10, which shoots in 1080p.
I've been looking for an affordable laptop that I can edit my short films on. I recently came across the Acer Aspire V3-731-4695. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V3-731-4695-17-3-Inch-Midnight/dp/B0085H63QA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1343925051&sr=8-5&keywords=2+ghz+4gb+ram+laptop+acer

I would like to know if it would work. If it doesn't could you give me any suggestions? I'd like to keep it under $900

Answer
If you are looking for something that will handle HD video, that laptop will not, AT ALL. The core things you need are a faster hard drive, better video card, and at least 8gb RAM. The processor on that is also very poor for HD editing. I have a laptop with about the same specs and it cannot even come close to being acceptable for HD editing. Your images will be choppy and it will take hours to render a few minute clip in full 1080p. If you are looking for an editing computer you are going to have to spend more (at least $800). I recommend building a desktop computer. You dont really get the best bang for your buck when it comes to laptops.

I built an amazing video editing and 3D graphics computer for about $1,000 (desktop computer). That is probably the rout you're going to have to take because laptops or desktops in that price range will not cut it for native HD editing.
